I thought I would ask, as the only dumb question is one you don't ask. Does anyone have any experience implementing this. A OpenLDAP Liunx server with "Active Directory" like structure and all Windows boxes connected to the domain with Samba-TNG.

And I do plan on setting up a lab based on the above article. I also had a look at the Samba-TMG Wiki

And it does seem to support LDAP (in an experimental since). Any suggestions, other than converting all the boxes to Linux as that is not an option, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I will post the lab and the results of the lab either successful or epic fail in 2 weeks or so. I will also give prudent updates to the lab as deemed necessary. My hopes are that it will be a success as I would like to implement this in the next couple months in a small business environment. However if I do fail I will simply setup a NT4 Domain with the standard Samba software. I am simply looking for something with more flexibility and something scalable for "as the business grows."

I think for hardware I will use my old IBM server I have stooped under the bed with a fresh Ubuntu Server install as the LDAP and Samba server and 5 Windows Xp VM's for the clients.

Been busy working on a website for work. This project is still on the to do list, I just haven't had the time. I will keep you posted as I find the time to get it done, if anyone is interested.
